It's interesting I too came here after watching one of your LinkedIn videos in a bid to get your most recent ones ,lol! Megan I am proud of you for choosing yourself over anything, I am currently struggling as a virtual assistant and really trying to make things work. Some of my greatest fears have been addressed by you talking about not wanting to create to always sell to people. My plan was to start a VA UA-cam channel but it feels like I cannot sustain it, and it could take years to get somewhere. Being jobless doesn't make it any easier since I urgently need to find a way to generate an income. The dynamics of the digital marketplace have changed so much but I hope I'll be able to find something soon. Sending all support and hugs!

"We are too prctical to have kids". I won't tell you what you want to hear because I actually want what is good for you. Get kids, Megan. Sacrifice your 'perfect life' and get kids. This is for your own good. Because if you don't, you will realize, when it's too late, just how truly impractical you were. Or don't have kids, it's really up to you. All I know is, I won't be blamed for what you will suffer if you choose not to. I have done my part.

Happy belated birthday, Megan! 🎉🍀 I think the key is to accept things the way they are. Having kids is so deeply routed in the idea of living, because reproduction is the way every person is made. At the same time we feel pressured to meet an expectation, and try to rationalize and justify our decision not to meet that expectation. The way I see it, it's not other people's fault that this is their expectation. It's fine. Just as not living up to it. There's no need to justify or rationalize anything about not wanting kids. Personally I believe we make the mistake of philosophically solely looking at it from a reproduction perspective. However we should also look at it from an ethical perspective. It's a huge responsibility to commit to the happiness and wellbeing of a child/ human being. A human not born, is less of a pain than a living unhappy human being. So not having a child is a conservative way of dealing with this ethical dilemma. And we must always consider that among those around us who have children there'll be those who are unhappy children. It's a matter of probabilities. I don't know if that makes sense at all... 😅🙈

Personally, I can't see why some people give those who don't want kids so much guff. I mean, it's not affecting them in any way. If a couple doesn't want to have children, that's on them. In fact, I can think of A LOT of people who shouldn't have had kids. But that has more to do with being terrible people in crap situations. Still, if a couple doesn't want kids, then why does it matter? I think it's just jealousy because you're living the life that they can't have because of kids. Eh...it's all good. Hey Megan. My husband Ryan and I are also (human) child-free...I've had 2 miscarriages in the past and although we're not trying NOT to have a kid, we're not trying to have one either. The way we figured is if the good Lord sees fit it will happen and we'll be thrilled but with today's world we really don't want to raise a baby in it. All the violence, politics, and just plain nastiness going on- I think we're just fine with our fur babies.
